Fabrication of an Aluminum Connector Bracket Component for a Test and Measurement System

At Morris & Broms, LLC, we manufacture thousands of different metal parts and assemblies for a myriad of industries. The component shown here is a bracket that is used in an advanced data acquisition system, and is an example of our extensive fabrication capabilities. The bracket is constructed of 0.063" thick 5052-H32 aluminum, which is a wrought aluminum alloy with excellent strength, corrosion resistance and formability characteristics. We work with a wide array of materials and use only high quality metals that meet applicable AMS, ASTM, and ASME standards.
To create the bracket, the aluminum pieces were sheared, punched, and formed on CNC equipment to tolerances as tight as + 0.003" / - 0.000". The assembly was finished with a yellow chromate conversion coating for added corrosion resistance. It measures 4.445" in length, 2.844" in width, and 2.281" in height. Dimensional and visual inspection procedures were followed to verify part conformance to all customer supplied CAD drawings and technical specifications. This is an active part that is typically produced in 50 piece runs with a lead time of 4 weeks.
