Custom Fabrication of Electrical Automation Enclosure for the Electronics Industry

At Morris & Broms, LLC, we provide custom fabrication of metal components and assemblies such as enclosures, face plates, and brackets. The enclosure shown here is used in an electrical automation application as part of an energy efficient system. The enclosure was fabricated using 16 gauge galvannealed steel for the primary body and 14 gauge steel for the front and door of the assembly. CNC punching and press brake equipment was used to shear, punch, and form the spot welded enclosure. The assembly measures 44.50" in length, 24" in width, 8.25" in depth, and is powder coated green with a textured finish to emphasize the product's "green" energy saving nature.
Welds were tested using a spot weld peel test and dimensional inspections were performed to verify that tolerances as tight as ±0.005" were held, in accordance with customer specifications. We produce approximately 200 to 300 of these enclosures per month in three different sizes and eight different configurations. This project highlights our core strength of providing multiple metal fabrication processes under one roof.
